Our two fields known as "Higher Langlands" and "Stocking Close", were bequeathed to provide an income from which to fund various charitable objects.  They were not donated for use by the community, and the trustees are obliged to secure a market rent for them.

Idealy, The trustees wanted to make the fields "work" for the Cullompton community as well, rather than just renting them out ib the business environment. For years they were rented out, or "sold" annually  as grass keep. 

A way had to be found which served both purposes. 

We think this has now been achieved.  "Stocking Close" is currently rented by the Rugby club to allow local youngsters a safe and dedicated training area. 

Higher Langlands is part used by Willowbank school on a fixed term lease as a playing field for its primary children.  This field has now been included in the area's development plan, and discussions are in hand with the school, the local education area authority and other interested parties seeking a mutually acceptable solution that balances the strong local desire to preserve Willowbank's playing field whilst enabling the Trustees to fulfuill their obligations in meeting the wider financial responsibility to maximise the assett for the benefit of the charities' future works.
