| Sponsoring an Application? |

If you are a local social worker, medical advsor, teacher or similar professional wishing to assist an individual or group applicant in approaching Cullompton United Charities for assistance, then you are in the right place! Before we can entertain a parishioner's application for assistance, (other than under the George Spicer scheme for school leavers), we ask for details of the request, back ground information to help us understand the context, and are able to request information about means. We are particularly keen that such applications should carry the support of an auhorative member of the coommunity such as a Doctor, Health Visitor, social worker, teacher or other recognised sponsor. We cannot help those who are not normally resident in the ancient parish of Cullompton. The diversity of our possible requests means we cannot cover everything here, for example we would have a different approach to decision making if the request is for a Piper Lifeline system for an elderly member of the community than if we were being asked to help with the purchase of foodstuffs, or short term nursery provision to provide a distressed mother with respite. Each case will be considered on its merits, will depend upon our financial continuity, We rarely make cash gifts, preferring to arrange a purchase or deposit an agreed sum with the intended local vendor. Where appropriate, and depending upon the intended purchase, we will liase as to whether we or the individual will become the owner. This is important because CUC do not accept ongoing commintments fo rrepair or maintenance, insurance or liability for fault after purchase of equipment. You will be asked to countersign the application to help satisfy us that you regard the application as one where there is a genuine case of "need". We will be happy to consider any side letter or other information you are able to present as well. It is particularly helpful to us if you can confirm your contact details. Then if we have any questions, we can try to avoid unecessary delays. Feel free to contact us of you have any questions. Equally important, if you are a local referrer and should like to see better or different guidance on this website, to assist you in understanding the ways we can help, as well as understanding the constraints where we cannot, then all feedback and suggestions would be gratefully received. |
